The other night hubby and I went to Paris on a date – well we actually went to Glendale and watched Midnight in Paris – the latest movie by Woody Allen. I loved every second of this movie as it transported us 6 thousand miles to the city of lights – and then transported us back in time to the 1920s and beyond. If you only see one movie this summer make sure it’s this one.
Given the choice of London or Paris Minty and Rémy chose Paris. We constantly discuss all the things we are going to cram into our visit this summer. Ladurée for breakast, a walk up to the Premiere etage of the Tour Eiffel for a ham sandwich (Rémy is adamant that we will make it up to the top this year, I’m not sure my vertigo will get me there), l’escargot at Le Comptoir pour moi, shopping in St Germain for Babapapas et al, Pierre Hermes ice cream sandwiches, Deyrolle for ammonites fossilisées – not sure how we’ll carry any home but it’s fun to look for Rémy the paleontologist, the hop on hop off boat on the Seine and that all important tour of Paris in the back of an open top Citoen 2 CV. We have a lot to do during our short time there.
Happy Bastille Day mes amis!
We managed to get to a surprising number this Spring. Le Baratin is waay out but great, very inventive. Le Relais du Comptoir may be my Paris fave, we ate there twice! and John had an amazing tasting menu at Jadis without me!
Another great place was Le Square Trousseau
