Do you have a bucket list? A local fishing trip with a who’s who of Los Angeles’ chefs should be on it – I know it’s one of my Thousand Things and I’m pleased to announce the next Go Fish LA! trip – on Sunday September 28th, 2014. If you are lucky enough to hook one of our VIP tickets ($100) you can come too. Every fishing trip is different – be it the type of fish we catch, the amount of fish caught, the wildlife we see, the food we eat, the chefs on board and friends we make. Each trip is unique and so enjoyable and I can’t wait for this next installment.
The Monte Carlo Boat
22nd Street Landing, 141 W 22nd Street
San Pedro, CA 90731
United States
The boat departs at 12 noon – so best to meet at the dock a little before – you don’t want to miss the boat. Michael Cimatrusti (Providence and Connie & Teds) – THE MAN when if comes to all things fish – is definitely coming – as are Donato Poto, Waylynn Lucas (Fonuts), Josiah Citrin (Melisse), Brendan Collins (Waterloo and City) and Ray Garcia (Fig). As for other Chefs coming on this trip I’m waiting to hear back from more great local chefs, some who have fished with us before and some who keep asking to come: Andrea Cavaliere (Cecconi’s), Alain Giraud (Maison Giraud), Suzanne Goin (Lucques), Evan Kleiman (GOOD FOOD), Ludo Lefebvre (Trois Mec and Petit Trois), Michael McCarty (Michael’s), Zoe Nathan (Huckleberry), Wolfgang Puck (Spago), Nancy Silverton (Mozza), Curtis Stone (Maude), Mariah Swan (BLD), Michael Voltaggio (ink.) and Sherry Yard.
The chefs get to come if they bring along some delicious tasty treats for us all to share for lunch. Highlights from previous trips include Cecconi’s Truffle sliders, Rick Moonen Lobster Rolls, MB Post Heirloom Tomato Salad with Lemon Ricotta, Grilled Cheese Truck Gourmet Grilled Mac n Cheese Sandwiches, the best Chocolate Chip Cookies from Providence, LA Mill iced coffee and Dark and Stormy cocktails – the chefs don’t disappoint when it comes to the delicacies they bring aboard for all to enjoy.
When fishing or eating or drinking the chefs will multi task and share recipe ideas for the catch and there will be a prize for the biggest fish caught.
Here’s the Sea to Plate Video by White on Rice Couple, Todd and Diane, which was made during my first fishing trip with Michael Cimarusti for edible LA, five years ago.
If you would like the opportunity to fish with this esteemed bunch you’ll have to act fast we are only offering a limited number of VIP tickets ($100), on a first come, first served basis.Note: VIP Tickets for the general public are available for $100.00 per person on a first-come, first-sold basis via Brown Paper Tickets.
You bring: A rod (available to hire on the dock) and a fishing license(go to http://www.dfg.ca.gov/licensing/ols/ and purchase a one day fishing license $14), sunscreen, and a smile!
As well as the treats the Chefs are bringing aboard there are drinks (including beer) and food sold on the boat.
All ticket sales are non-refundable.
*Final chef list to be confirmed. No bananas allowed on board – Chef Cimarusti says it’s bad luck.
So sad that I only just found this and it is sold out : (
How do we get on the list to hear about the next event?
I added your email address to the waiting list and will email you before tickets go on sale for the next trip.
Same here. My husband would just die and go to heaven if I could get him a ticket for this.
Hi, would you please add me to your email list as well. I love food events.
