Go Fish 2017 – L A’s Best Chefs on board for Fishing Fun

Go Fish Truffle Brothers, Donato Poto, Micheal Cimarusti, Lucy Lean, Alain Giraud, Andrea CavaliereWe finally have a date for the Go Fish 2017 fishing trip with top LA Chefs on Sunday May 7th.  I can’t wait to get out and catch the big one – all the while laughing, joking, making new friends and sharing good times with old friends.

The trip is SOLD OUT – but if you’d if you would like to join in the fun next time please subscribe to LucyLean.com and leave me a comment below and I will add you to the Wait List for this trip too!

Go Fish 2017 – What’s on the Menu

Bright and very early (6.30am) we will set out to sea with delicious food from the chefs coming, No doubt Michael Cimarusti (Providence, Connie & Teds and Cape Seafood) will bring his legendary chocolate chip cookies – they are extra large and made with chunks of Valrhona chocolate and just the right amount of sea salt.

Go Fish 2017 - L A's Best Chefs on board for Fishing FunDonato Poto (Providence, Connie & Teds and Cape Seafood) is coming to pour prosecco, make me laugh so hard my face always hurts and act as the UN if necessary between the British, French and Italians on board.  Europeans take the biggest fish contest extremely seriously, especially when an Italian catches a very large fish that turns out not to count.

Alan Giraud promises Rémy’s favorite sandwich – a true French man’s jambon beaurre – Parisienne ham and French butter on a crunchy baguette.  The Truffle Brothers are coming so we will see them ‘shave a lot’  – probably on the classic Go Fish! menu item – Andrea Cavaliere’s (Soho House, Cecconi’s) Kobe truffle sliders and Italian charcuterie.

Go Fish 2017 - Shave a LotDave Danhi (Grilled Cheese Truck dude) will be using the hamburger griddle in the galley for his award wining grilled cheese sarnies. Valerie Gordon (Valeries Confections) is new to Go Fish! this year and she will be bringing hand pies, not only easy to eat but also delicious in the early morning hours.

Go Fish 2017 - Waylynn LucasMy adorable friend Waylynn Lucas (fonuts, Cake Wars) is coming with delicious baked goodies and sadly without her gorgeous hubby who gets sea sick, allegedly. I’ve yet to hear back from Neal Fraser (Redbird), Kevin Meehan and Drew Langley (Kali) as to what treats they will be bringing to share but given how competitive the chefs are to serve the most delicious hit of the boat I know it will be mouthwateringly good. There are others who are yet to confirm, I will add in as we get closer to the day.Go Fish 2017 - L A's Best Chefs on board for Fishing FunThis trip is especially impotant to me because I had to postpone the trip last year because of Minty’s spinal surgery.  I’m thankful everyday to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles for getting us all through this challenging ordeal and grateful to everyone for your patience.  Finding a date and wrangling 20 odd chefs is not easy I can tell you, in fact it’s almost impossible, and seems to grow progressively harder as the years go by. But we have a date and a gaggle of amazing chefs who can’t wait to fish.
Go Fish 2017 - L A's Best Chefs on board for Fishing FunGo Fish! all started back in Summer 2009 when I took Michael Cimarusti fishing for story written by Amy Scattergood for Edible LA.  Since then we have been on many trips, each one different, but all immensely fun. Sometimes we’ve caught tiddlers, rock fish, scalpin or sand dabs and and other times big beautiful yellow tail or fighting barracuda
