I really hope you will make yourself at home – I created this space as somewhere to come to relax, to enjoy something beautiful, to inspire you to treat yourself to a little luxury with quick and easy life hacks to make it a wonderful life.
When you are here you should feel like you are a part of one of the most glamorous Hollywood soirees, because just by being here you are! Perhaps you want to get a recipe for a delicious healthy dish I’ve cooked up or maybe you want to see how to brighten up your life.
This website is about all the things I love - cooking scrumptious recipes, creating fabulous interiors, the laughter when entertaining friends and places near and far that I've been to or wish to visit. Lean Luxury doesn't mean you have to spend a fortune, often it's more a state of mind, the little things you can do to help create a luxurious lifestyle for yourself and those around you. A breakfast tray fit for a lady, easy fixes to your home decor with flowers or ideas for creating a sophisticated dinner party without any stress.
Become part of this community – leave comments and share what you do and what you love – I look forward to getting to know you as you get to know me. If you have something you have created that you wish to share let me know and I can include it on Rosé Corner - a modern day salon where like minded people can showcase their creativity, ideas and passions.
A lot of my recipes, be they healthy or comfort food are chef driven. I love nothing more than learning from top chefs, sharing their recipes and techniques and making them accessible for you, the home cook.
I am cookbook author and photographer - for my book MADE IN AMERICA: OUR BEST CHEFS REINVENT COMFORT FOOD I travelled the nation and collected traditional American comfort food recipes from 100 of America's best chefs and transformed them into accessible recipes for the home cook.
Next up is LEAN IN AMERICA: OUR BEST CHEFS REINVENT HEALTHY FOOD. Who doesn't want to be more healthy? And who thinks healthy is boring diet food? Well this book will change all that - healthy, delicious recipes from 100 of America's best chefs that you will want to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
I want to help you to find a balance between comfort food and healthy food everyday. No more bland repetitive eating regimes - let's focus on clean, lean deliciousness.
I love my outdoor kitchen and especially my fabulous grill. It's here that I grill up delicious food and sometimes make movies as Girl on Grill showing easy techniques for the perfectly grilled fish, meat and veggies. It was thrilling to be featured on the cover of Grill Magazine, photographed by the super talented Drew Kelly.
I am a professional photographer and my work has appeared in my own book Made in America; Our Best Chefs Reinvent Comfort Food, Crave the 10th Anniversary special edition, the Los Angeles Times, The Wall Street Journal, Vanity Fair, Food and Wine, Esquire, LA Weekly, The Week, Tasting Table, Zagat, Edible LA and many other print and online publications.
I am an event producer - I create spectacular, memorable and innovative delicious chef events. I am the Co-Executive Director/Founder of the annual All-Star Chef Classic which debuted LA Live in March 2014, came back for seconds March, 2015 and was back for a third time in March 2016. This year's event is March 8th - 11th and promises to be a not to be missed food event.
I am so proud of the many culinary events I have founded - in particular the awesome annual food event Chef Fest at the Four Seasons Resort Hualalai in Hawaii - this ultimate culinary getaway just wrapped on its sixth year. It all started with my book Made in America and an idea to host some of America's best chefs in paradise...
I have also traveled around this enormous country that I now call home as a Food Judge for the casting of Gordon Ramsay's Fox TV show MasterChef right from season 1 as well as Junior Masterchef when I helped put together a sizzle reel to sell the idea to US execs.
I'm a Brit living in sunny California with my husband and two children, Minty and Rémy. Living so far from England means I'm kind of obsessed with where I grew up, what I know and love and miss and crave... I like nothing more than making a batch of scones with Devon Clotted Cream, strawberry jam and a pot of PG Tips. I also love the Queen, her corgies and any excuse to wave the union flag!
I began blogging with my award winning blog Ladles and Jellyspoons but now the children are a little older and the kids cooking thing is one small part of what I do. At LucyLean.com I write and showcase my culinary adventures both locally and abroad - cooking at home in my kitchen, entertaining around my dream 16 seater table, visiting restaurants to eat or to learn back of the house, fishing with Chefs on my trips Go Fish!, and exploring Provence during the summers that sadly aren't endless.
I write for Mosaic Magazine, Squid Ink/LA Weekly's food blog, I am a charter contributor to Zester Daily and have been known to eat bugs and write for MeatPaper. Follow me on Twitter @LucyLean.
I am the former editor of edible Los Angeles, a much missed quarterly magazine that kept me busy exploring local food culture.
Rémy is my chef of the future and my Boy on Grill. And he has skills - his Thomas Keller Brownies were better than mine, he cracks eggs like a pro, grills perfect steak on the grill and he's not shy of exotic ingredients. Perhaps this comes down to genetics - his grandfather is Chef/Restaurateur Jean-Jacques Rachou of the late La Cote Basque in New York.
Minty is my beauty guru and fellow blogger, she's also a talented artist - illustrating the recipes, hosting videos or setting the table beautifully, complete with handwritten placement. Her most recent video series launched with 3 minute Cake in a Cup:
